ALIEF SUPER NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING
Minutes for Tuesday, March 25, 2014
The regular monthly ASNC#25 meeting was held March 25, 7:00 PM, at the Centerpoint Energy Building, 12330 Bellaire Blvd.
PROGRAM:
Chairperson, Barbara Quattro, called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. Roll Call of Council members was done by sign-in sheet. A quorum was met (see attached).
GUESTS: Veronica Hernandez (COH Mayor’s office); Catherine Le (Congressman Al Green’s office; Dashondra Hansford (COH Parking Enforcement); Richard Nguyen and Alvin Byrd (COH District f); and representatives from several local HOA’s,.
HOSPITALITY –Hospitality was provided by HCC for this meeting. Hospitality providers are encouraged to volunteer.
MOTIONS MADE:
• Dorothy Pindell motioned to approve the minutes from September 2013 through February 2014. Seconded by Marie Lee. Council voted, motion passed
• Kevin Kebede motioned to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Mike Kreinsen
COMMITTEE & STANDING REPORTS
CHAIRS REPORT Barbara Quattro discussed the current ASNC website and needs for upgrading. She suggested students from Kerr and other schools could have a contest with a prize. She also noted the Kite flying event at the Community Garden. ASNC will not be protesting the new proposed low income properties discussed at the March meeting.
TREASURER’S REPORT –No input
ELECTIONS/NOMINATING COMMITTEE No input.
PROJECTS/SNAP COMMITTEE No input.
NEW BUSINESS
GUEST SPEAKER
Richard Nguyen, City Councilman, District F- Mr. Nguyen and Mr. Alvin Byrd noted upcoming CIP meetings and that requests should be turned in. He expressed his support for the Alief area/community and asked for suggestions for cleanup areas. The latest cleanup was behind Walgreens.
Deshondra Hansford and her assistant, City of Houston Parking Management Division:-Ms. Hansford handed out flyers explaining the parking laws in Houston. She gave a short quiz to the attendees to see how much they knew about parking ordinances. She instructed people to call 311 to report violations. Areas of interest were parking in cul de sacs, at stop signs, driveways trucks and fire hydrants. Questions were answered from the floor.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM. Attendees were encouraged to talk to speakers and guests after the meeting
