MEETING MINUTES ALIEF SUPER NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING

Chair: Barbara Quattro Vice Chair: Noreen Smith Treasurer: Doug Smith  Secretary: Jesus Zamora.

OPENING: The regularly scheduled meeting of the Alief Super Neighborhood Council was held on November 28, 2017 at the Alief Community Center. Chair Barbara Quattro called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.  The first order of business was the Treasurer report from Doug Smith.  The ASNC currently has a balance of $356.26 but $1,000 was added to the balance by a generous donation from Parkglen West Home Owners.

Alief Crime Update:  Houston Police Captain Mike Faulhaber of Westside Command briefed residents on current crime statistics for Alief. Violent crime rates from September-October are down 24.1% and non-violent crimes are down 8%. Main issues officers have been encountering are problems with motor vehicle burglary and sexual assaults within family households.  The DRT Department provided their number to residents (832)-394-7620.

Discussion: Residents provided input on the upcoming CIP meeting in 2018 as well as the reconstruction of the Alief Community Center. See below the list of requested items for our district that will be submitted to the city for review. Hackberry Park needs additional trees.   Residents were informed that a request for district service funds from the District F office but have received no response.  (Chair note:   This request has now been DENIED by CM Steve Le.)  Total cost estimate is $30,000.
